  • So. Here's the rundown, although very summarized. No links for now, but you know where to go.

    October 8-28, 2005
    • I mourned for the loss of making out and of my voice, but both things came back to me soon enough.
    • Went to New York City for the weekend! It was too short of a trip, too short indeed.  Pictures can be found at my Flickr account.
    • Work at GotNext is really picking up.  Actually, gaming in general is picking up, what with Trauma Center: Under the Knife and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney under my thumbs.
    • I've also been doing a lot of freewriting lately as well... makes me happy, it does.

  • A mound of misshapen pumpkins lay off to the side.  Altogether too large, discolored, and deformed, would anyone love these pumpkins like they would the plump and perfect ones right across from them?  I stared at them with an odd sense of pity, but upon seeing the prices bestowed on these gigantic gourds, I accepted the fate that these almost-sentient things had already seemed to resign themselves to.

Squad cars lined up in front of the rundown motel that everyone believes is the haunt for truckers and prostitutes, if only to bring some color to the dank, grey roadside.  We convince ourselves of this, knowing full well that its nutritional content is nil, that all it does is act as a placebo for an actual thrill.

I want to scream, if only to break the dull monotony.  I want to scream, but I've been left without a voice.  Even after I'm rested and recuperated, after I'm done with swimming in this sickness, will anything really have changed?

    October 1-7, 2005
So, yeah.  Went to work yesterday and physically called in (because how am I supposed to call call when I don't have a voice?), so I won't be seeing the lot of you today.  Not that you're guaranteed to be working or anything, but you know.  bah.  Here's to a bubble tea run, dying my hair chocolate brown, and anticipating five days from now while cooped up in bed!

    * - She's found me on thar intarweb, Mo.  PROTECT. ENTRIES. Although there's no direct link to anything of mine on that godforsaken MySpace account that someone made me start (and has only caused me grief, I tell you), I don't want to run the risk of her playing connect the dots, so for now I'm taking the actual link off of my links list.

  • Currently Listening
    Sambomaster Wa Kimi Ni Katarikakeru
    By Sambomaster
    "Seishun Kyousoukyoku"
    see related
I remember at some point, Tim Rogers was talking about Sambomaster and their oozing of the awesome.  Of course, I was curious, but never followed up on it.

Cue my recent addiction to Naruto (which I have since staved off... kinda), and right around episode 101, this funky guitar kicks in.
From then on, I've been hooked.  I downloaded the whole track from NarutoFan (although, if you promise to delete it in twenty-four hours, here it is in all its glory), and it's just excellent.  I've been listening to that, "Nakushita Kotoba" by No Regret Life, and Bump of Chicken's cover of "Hybrid Rainbow".  All in that order.

Mr. Schaldach and I always find ourselves talking about music.  Most of the time, it's us making fun of the crappy "music" that we end up hearing if we turn on the radio, and of all the mall punks that think they're so awesome and badass.  His wife's taking him to the Green Day concert tomorrow, and he's going to bring his PSP so he can occupy himself in the meantime.  I told him that all the mall punks will try to bully it out of him with their emo glares and fierce pouts.

... actually, we're on AIM right now and just had the most hilarious exchange:
    [13:28] btdftw: wait....[1UP] isn't high school?
[13:28] StealthyUmi: no, it's alternative school
    [13:28] btdftw: Hahahahahaha
[13:28] btdftw: with a couch and ashtray in every classroom
[13:29] btdftw: and all the answers in the back of the textbooks
[13:29] StealthyUmi: and kids with their babies screaming
    [13:29] btdftw: OMG hahahahaha
[13:29] StealthyUmi: and the token eighth year senior that always hooks up with the incoming freshmen
[13:29] btdftw: Hey baby do you like Dokken?
[13:30] StealthyUmi: "Good Charlotte is today's Dokken, you know"
[13:30] btdftw: OMG HAHAHAHAHA Holy Shit!!!!!!!!!!
[13:31] StealthyUmi: :: holds up the trophy ::
[13:31] StealthyUmi: Thank you, thank you.
    [13:31] StealthyUmi: :: applause ::

I don't know where I'd be without music, honestly.  <3 to you, music. You take home the platinum bling-bling hizzle-foo.  (I have no idea what I just tried to say right there.)

About Me

  • Hm. Default info: I like eating, sleeping, and milkshakes. Half of my heart is in my daughter, and my other half is on the East Coast, so there are moments two days of the week that I'm rather lonely. Video games are my passion, and the desire to get back into school and pursue journalism as a career again has been reignited.
